Tonight was the last night for C for t-ball. He did great! He was very excited about getting his trophy tonight. And, of course, the snack.
We had quite the cheering section tonight, too! My cousin was here visiting from New Jersey with a friend, so even more support for our kiddo!
C is really loving baseball. He asked me, as we were walking inside, "Mommy? Can I do t-ball again next year?" Of course! So glad he loves it.
He was still a switch-hitter this year. He would alternate swinging from each side. Coach Tim said he thinks he hits better from the right. He throws the ball with his left. We'll see what happens as he gets older. J already has him pegged as a left-handed reliever. Too funny.
One of his favorite things to do was to run the bases. He's a pretty fast kid, my C. I should know! I tried catching him at the park one day last week and couldn't! He was too fast!
He had some pretty good teammates this year. A friend from his class and some others that go to his school. The parents were great too. You can't beat that when it comes to sports!
Coach Tim was fantastic. He really took time to teach the kids how to throw and how to swing. He kept the kids focused-out of the dirt, away from climbing the fence, how to take care of their glove, hat, and bats, etc.
I know this is just one of many sports C has tried. But I'm glad he loves it. I'm glad he has the focus and attention span to learn the game and improve (which he did!). I'm glad he loves it because we do too. And we love him!

Feelin' the Love
We were definitely feelin' the love tonight at t-ball.
We are so lucky and blessed to have Mammas and Papas that are so close to come to games during the week. Thank you a million times over for being a blessing in our kids' lives. Especially tonight for this little boy.

Twinkle Toes
Today we had Twinkle Toes doing a show for us. Do you see her?
Now do you see her? In the middle with her oh-so-focused look on her face. She was dancing to Buffalo Gals, Won't You Come Out Tonight? She did great! There were many people to support our Twinkle Toes...
Mamma Sue and Big Papa...even on Mamma's birthday!
Mamma Jo and Papa Kevin...
All of the Herll Girls!
And of course, us!
This little honey has so much spunk and life in her.
I love watching her shake, jump and leap. I love watching her smile, giggle and twirl. She is a girly girl and I love every little bit about it.
And deep down, her brother loves everything about her too. Even if he did seem as though he had been taken against his will to the dance show tonight. Sorry, buddy. It's only the beginning!

T-ball
...Funny what you find "in the archives" when you go back to look at posts you started on but never finished. Has that ever happened to you? It just did for me and I found 17 unfinished posts! It goes back to me wanting my writing to be perfect with all of the right pictures to tell the story. I hope you enjoy this post, started last June, of my son and his t-ball experience!
*********************************************************************************
Batting helmet on? Bat in hand? Standing by the "T?" Eye on the ball? (Standing a bit to close to the t, but that's ok...just looking for coaches help.) Ready? Swing! Run, C, run! Ok, he made it. Next batter. The ball is hit. Cruns still stands on the base looking at who-knows-what. Kid steps on the base with him. Run, C, run! He made it to second. Same routine for getting to third and finally to home. But, if you're the last batter that inning, where every single person on the team bats, you get to run a home run! C got to do that this week and he knew just what to do!
It's been a lot of fun watching C play t-ball this year. By chance he had two of his friends from school on his team, too! One of his very good friends at that! He's learned how to throw the ball, run the bases, play different positions-his favorites being pitcher and first base because he got to throw the ball a lot and catcher, too, because of the equipment he got to wear. We hope you enjoy this look at C during his first year in t-ball.

Basketball for all!
Sometimes it's hard to decide what activities to put your kids in. Sometimes it's a little tricky when you have twins. Sometimes you think, "Well, one is in it, might as well put the other one in it." Such is the case with basketball this year. C tried it out last year and loved every minute of it. Sometimes it took a while to get the hang of sharing the ball with others but this year is a different story.
There's a confidence about him. He is making baskets A is having a great time, too. Of course her favorite is the snack at the end of the game. Whenever she's not by her brother she really tries her best. She likes the girls on her team, too. Sophie wears sparkle shoes while she plays. She also wears eye shadow, blush and lip gloss. A was sure to point that out to me after this first game.
The Bulldogs love playing. I love the ease for which they play. Nothing is high-stakes. That's how it should be now. I know that all-to-soon the stakes will be higher and the pressure will come. It's so different from how it was when we played. I just hope they remember the biggest, most important rule...
HAVE FUN!
